The battle centred on Arnhem and Oosterbeek, in the province of Gelderland, the Netherlands. The John Frost Bridge (John Frostbrug) over the Rhine in Arnhem, rebuilt after the war and renamed for the British officer who held it, has been a Dutch national monument (rijksmonument, reference 529907) since 7 April 2010. The Airborne Museum Hartenstein, in Oosterbeek, tells the story of the battle at the former headquarters of the British 1st Airborne Division.
